Multi-Step Torque process

If you want to setup a “multi-step” torque process with the Ingersoll rand QX wrench you can do so in the following way.

  1. Close the CORTEX Service APP if you have it open on your iPhone.

  2. Open up the Insight Connect App from Ingersoll Rand and connect with the Torque wrench

  3. Navigate to a desired Preset IMG_9143.PNG

  4. Choose the 3 dots top right and select the “Modify Steps”

  5. Create a new or clone an existing step IMG_9144.PNG

  6. “SAVE” the steps

  7. You can now Edit your different steps to your desired behaviour

  8. Activate the Preset to the wrench.

  9. Optional-Save the Preset to your desired device.

  10. Close (warning) the Connect app and Open CORTEX Service app again .

  11. You should now be able to use the Multi-step process.

Example:

Here the wrench will first rotate 90° CCW to un-tighten the bolt ( Note: make sure to use correct parameters … your “Minimum Angle” and your “High torque” needs to be sufficient high!

Then the wrench will tighten the bolt in the usual way.

The current data transfer to the wrench is only the Torque value and not the Angle value from the first step. If you thus use the un-tighten function (-90° CCW ) your “Angle of Rotation” might need to be adapted to reflect this 90° turn!
